Physiotherapy

We harness the power of physiotherapy to change lives.

We understand how and why structure and function take place and work with our patients to relieve the effects of stress and pain and improve blood circulation, muscle strength and joint mobility.

Our methodology is rooted in intuition, observation and manual therapy. Whether it’s in-house or online via bespoke video consultations, our goal is to help you return to natural, effective and functional movement.

We have worked with many patients and helped them recover from:

Chiropractic Treatment

Chronic pain or dysfunctional stiffness

If you’re in constant pain or have difficulty performing everyday tasks, you could have an acute injury causing you pain despite receiving repeated medical treatment. Chronic pain symptoms such as stiffness, numbness or lumbar strain may lead to insomnia, irritability, deconditioning and mental stress. The process is like peeling an onion, layer by layer, to discover the underlying cause of your pain or stiffness. We deploy a series of approaches to address the conditions. For eg., If a patient has been undergoing a long period of stress, and developed (gut issues) irritable bowel syndrome, we use techniques to address the restriction. Or in the case of visceral pain, where lymphatic vessels are very tight and bloated, we use lymphatic drainage to jumpstart the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Sports-related injuries

Whether you’re a professional athlete, a weekend warrior or an enthusiastic amateur, no one likes to be away from their sport through injury. Shoulder impingement, knee ligamental sprain, ankle instability or over-trained syndrome are common injuries necessitating sports physiotherapy. Injuries from sports or physical activity differ from the conventional day-to-day injuries and athletes typically require a specific level of performance. Therefore it is important to take a systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment, Our sports physiotherapists have years of experience returning athletes to sports safely. Your treatment will be tailored to the specific diagnosis and aimed at achieving the fastest recovery time.

Pre and post surgery physiotherapy

Did you know that you can achieve faster and easier recovery from surgery with pre-surgery physiotherapy? Patients have shown to heal better when physiotherapy intervention is part of both the pre and post-surgery recovery plan. Prior to undergoing surgery, one of our key focus areas is preparing the patient to adopt a healthy mindset so that their body’s internal environment will be in an optimal state for recovery. We stress the importance of patient self-empowerment and their ability to take their health and recovery into their own hands. After your surgical procedure, physiotherapy is vital to the healing process and speeds your recovery along as you strengthen surrounding muscles, learn compensatory strategies in the short term and begin re-using your muscles and joints. We have years of experience treating patients undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, total knee replacement, total hip replacement, rotator cuff repair, spinal surgery, scar tissue restriction (resulting in not breathing and eating properly). Our treatment methods include postural correction (in the case of scar tissue release) and manual lymphatic drainage. As our patient starts to recover, we take progressive rehabilitation at different stages, while emphasising to our patient the importance of being consistent and discipline with their physiotherapy sessions.

Postural and work-related pain or injuries

Work-related pain can have a profound effect on both employees and employers due to impaired function and loss of productivity. In today’s context, where multi-tasking is the norm and a necessity, compounded by longer hours and a sedentary lifestyle, these have a significant impact on one’s health. Whilst the cause of work-related pain is often complex, there are certain patterns and postures that tend to be consistent throughout a lot of injuries. These can include neck/back pain due to prolong sitting and poor sitting posture, misuse of the body in daily activities such as laptop placement, poor lifting technique and repetitive strain injuries from long periods of time typing. Our physiotherapists have been working with patients with work-related pain for many years and can help you recover and return to normal work function in a safe and timely manner. While we provide treatments such as postural correction, we also focus on educating patients on self-awareness and their ability to recognise their body’s capacity and limitations.

Women’s health
and pelvic floor physiotherapy

Women’s health physiotherapy is a specialized physiotherapy service aimed at treating the broad spectrum of physical changes and issues that occur throughout a woman’s life, with particular focus on the pelvis and pelvic floor. This includes management of hormonal changes, pre and post-natal rehabilitation, pre and post-menopausal care and pre and post-surgical rehabilitation. While the incidence of pain, dysfunction, and injury in these areas is all too frequent, many of these issues are preventable and/or treatable, given prompt intervention. Common issues we treat include retraining pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy resulting in incontinence, and post-menopausal symptoms such as water retention and pelvic pain. Our specialist women’s health physiotherapists will make an assessment based on physical impact of your symptoms, assess posture, movement patterns, muscle and joint strength and stability to give us further insights into the underlying cause.

Paediatric physiotherapy

Children’s bodies are still developing, so they are more susceptible to injury than adults. But the good news is they often respond better and heal faster, especially with the correct management. We treat children with injuries ranging from sprains, slouching or postural pain (due to a heavy schoolbag or “text neck”) to gait issues, growth disorders and traumatic fracture rehabilitation. Following diagnosis, as with adults, treatment usually takes the form of manual and exercise therapy, coupled with education, primarily at-home stretches and strengthening exercises. Our approach also focuses on getting parents involved, ensuring continuity and safety in administering in-home physiotherapy sessions. The biggest difference with physiotherapy treatment for children is that we make the sessions more fun.

Physiotherapy
for seniors

Physiotherapy for seniors addresses the complex interaction of multiple issues associated with the ageing process. These issues are typically a combination of medical diagnosis, social and emotional needs, mobility and balance impairment and challenges related to independent living. Our therapists are specialised in understanding the physiology of the ageing process and the influence that chronic conditions have on balance and mobility. Some examples of conditions we treat include osteoarthritis and complications arising from illness as diabetes, and deconditioning due to past medical history. Total knee replacement post-surgery inflammation resulting in scar tissue becoming restricted and stiffness due to inactivity are also common issues faced by our patients. As part of the rehabilitation process, we deploy treatment methods such as connective tissue release and teach them to activate the correct muscles more efficiently and safely to achieve and maintain independence. Depending on the chronic condition, physiotherapy charges may be claimable/subsidised under the MEDISAVE, CHAS and the Pioneer/Merdeka Generation schemes.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic, whole body approach to healthcare. It is a non-invasive form of manual therapy to detect, treat and prevent health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person's muscles and joints. It is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together.

Our trained osteopaths have assisted with patients’ sleep cycles, gut issues and various nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic symptoms. If you are suffering from chronic pain or stiffness in the following areas, osteopathy intervention will help provide relief.
