Our mission
Founded by a belief that all patients should have access to the highest standard of medical care otherwise reserved for elite athletes, we have made it our mission to provide tailored treatments for every individual, even those with the most complex and multi-faceted conditions.
At Bodyworks Studio, our service philosophy is to always be kind to our patients, no matter how difficult the circumstances might be. We are committed to providing you and your loved ones with exceptional care in a compassionate and friendly atmosphere. Our reputation is built on the lasting relationships we have developed with our patients throughout the years. We believe that all our patients deserve the best care, and we will always make you feel welcome and at ease.
"If I can free even one molecule of restriction in the body, it would make my day because I know my patient can move better, breathe better and live better."
Samuel Kan, Co-Founder
Accomplished physiotherapist and osteopath,
relentless troubleshooter
Sam always had a passion for manual therapy although it was curiosity that led him to physiotherapy. And that was when he discovered that he had a natural flair for it. Sam graduated with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in California, USA. As a young apprentice, Sam worked in hospitals and private practices in the USA and Singapore. He would learn whatever he could from any colleague or mentor who was willing to share their skills and experience with him. During those formative years, Sam often found himself faced with clinical challenges and came to realise that patients' conditions could be complex and multi-faceted. To help these patients, Sam would explore ideas he uncovered in any medical literature he had access to. He knew that for every patient he could help, it would make him better for his next patient. After some years in clinical practice, Sam's curiosity was piqued by a form of work known as Rolfing. Rolfing is built on myofascial release techniques which focus on the connective tissue in the body, also known as fascia. Sam studied with the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration (RISI) and became a certified Rolfer. Working with fascia has opened up his mind to the capacity of the body's connective tissue and how its pervasiveness makes it such an important component we cannot overlook. While Sam has consistently maintained a full clinical load, his commitment to learning has neither dimmed nor wavered. By constantly adopting the latest developments in research and clinical practice, Sam offers more options for his patients over a wide range of conditions. His quest to deepen his knowledge led him to complete a Diplomate in Osteopathic Manipulative Theory & Practice from the Osteopathic College of Ontario, Canada. Sam's early experiences and his inquisitive nature have moulded him into the relentless trouble shooter he is today. Having honed his craft over a span of more than 20 years, Sam is an accomplished practitioner who embraces a forward-thinking approach to the diagnosis and treatment of physical dysfunctions. He is a strong advocate of identifying key imbalances and sequencing manipulative approaches that are pivotal to facilitating the recovery process.
"Instilling a culture of kindness and empathy in our team has been central to our service philosophy. It has enabled us to witness the many life changing transformations in our patients and we are indeed privileged to be part of the process."
Jennifer Tan – Senior VP,
Operations & Customer Experience
Agile and altruistic advocate and “commander”
Jennifer has a degree in Computer and Information Sciences and had worked in the IT industry for more than 10 years. holding positions ranging from systems programmer to technology consultant. As someone who is absolutely dedicated to her work, Jennifer experienced first-hand how the demanding nature of working in such a fast paced industry took a toll on her body and her mind. In the technology sector, Jennifer relied on her logical thinking and reasoning ability to work with technical content, schedules and timelines in solutioning for her customers. She feels very fortunate to have been at the forefront of innovation, doing what she enjoyed and loved best. At Bodyworks Studio, Jennifer's experience in process design stands her in good stead. She is integral to the operations of the clinic and constantly looks for ways to fine tune our workflows not only to keep our clinic humming but also to create the best possible experience for our patients. For Jennifer, every patient should be greeted with winning smiles and cheery greetings but she believes that delivering good customer service in the healthcare setting should be so much more than just a meet-and-greet. While our clinicians work with patients on their recovery, our reception team delivers on the essential support, not only to the patients but also to the clinical team. It has been amazing for Jennifer to witness the many life changing transformations in our patients. She knows what a huge privilege it is to be part of this process during that particular time in a patient's journey to recovery. She is convinced that when you change your body, that change can have a profound impact on your frame of mind. More importantly, when you have a mindset change, it in turn opens up endless possibilities for your body.
